description

Tanning leather while retaining the coat. There are many animals that have a beautiful and warm coat. Being able to maintain the skin with coat gives a lot of benefits. It is not only beautiful but a good fur layer gives a lot of insulation. If you travel to cold areas, you would like a good hat or coat with fur! Tanning while retaining fur is another technique than, for example, the ‘bark tanning’ or making buckskin.
For example, the hairs are stuck in a skin layer that is sensitive to rot and you have to prevent this. While this process with buckskin is accelerated because you want to remove the layer. For example, this process has similar steps, including cleaning the skin and preserving the skin and coat. At the same time, the steps work slightly differently. You have to take into account various elements to avoid getting bald spots. And all this with materials that nature has available!
The total process contains a number of steps that take time. In this weekend of two days you will learn how to tanne while retaining fur and in between there is room for a good walk or other beautiful elements.
