Flint is one of the oldest materials man has used to make tools from. As long as man lives on earth, it uses its resources. Archaeological finds from about 120,000 years ago are proof that this extremely resilient and razor-sharp stone species was already used at that time. The flint was worked with other stones into a numerous tools. The primal man knew arrowheads, axes and knives of different sizes and for different purposes.

Living by Nature takes you back in that primeval time and teaches you how to make these objects. Large stones for an axe, small residual material for arrowheads.

We ask students to bring their own sturdy, yet flexible leather gloves and safety glasses.

Working flint is a very precise activity. It takes a lot of discipline and perseverance. The result is an object from a bygone era, which you then continue to cherish for the rest of your life.
